Thankful for Technology

As I sit here on Thanksgiving Day I am overwhelmed by things for which to be thankful. Family, friends, and good health are of course top of the list but also near the top is technology. I'm lucky enough to live in a time and place where I can post my musings for the world to see. It's a little bit weird but also quite wonderful. On one hand there are people on our planet without enough food to eat and yet today I sent digital photos to be printed and in 2-3 days they'll be delivered to my post box. I'm not sure how this balances out in the real world. I hope that I can educate my students to use the advantages that they have and to make worthwhile contributions to our world at the same time. It is fun to try all these neat tech toys but hopefully I'll be able to come up with more meaningful applications when my students get to try them.
